The facilitator then invites the participants to talk about each of the above topics, in the above order of the questions. He encourages the others to respond and tell about their own experiences. The facilitator will navigate the discussion, and help those who are having difficulty to formulate their responses and feelings, and finally he will contribute his own perceptions.

The facilitator prepares a number of themes that can be debated, adjusted to the age and education of the group members. For example: “Should all the religious and ultra-Orthodox young men be obligated, without exception, to serve in the army?” He presents the topic to the entire group and asks who is pro and who is con, then chooses the respondents accordingly.
